Gladys L. Jones-Gibson

September 3, 1937 — February 10, 2012

TROY – Gladys Louise Jones-Gibson, 74, of Troy, entered into eternal life on February 10, 2012 after a long illness. Born in Grady, Alabama, she attended Dunbar High School and was a trustee of Helicon Baptist Church. Gladys moved to Troy in 1957 and attended Bethel Baptist Church. She is currently a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Albany.

Gladys was predeceased by her mother Elnora Jordan; her husband Robert Benjamin Gibson; her son Bartholomew Gibson, her daughter Sadie Thomas, six sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her father, George Jones; her children, James (Kathy) Gibson, Jeffery (Jeanne) Gibson, Cuemi Gibson, Robert Gibson, Ivy Fay Gibson, Martin Gibson, Geraldine Gibson, Stephone Gibson, Stephanie Mitchell, Tracy Morrison, Christopher Gibson, Cassandra Gibson; step children RC Pruitt and Marjorie Ann Felton. She is also survived by 2 brothers, 5 sisters, 35 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday at 12 noon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 236 North Pearl Street, Albany. Viewing hours will be from 11 am to 12 noon at the Church on Friday.
