LATHAM – Gladys M. Lowerhouse, 78, of Latham and Rockledge, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007.
Mrs. Lowerhouse was born in Granville, NY and was the daughter of the late Morris and Ella Mason Davies. She worked for the Town of Colonie, retiring from the library.
Mrs. Lowerhouse was a member of the North Colonie School Board, serving from 1976 to 1996, where she was instrumental in advancing educational opportunities for handicapped children. She was also a member of St. David's Society, Eastern Star, NYS Parents of the Deaf, Elks Auxiliary, Verdoy Fire Department Auxiliary, PTA, Girls Scouts, Mended Hearts and the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Lowerhouse is survived by her children, David (Nancy) Lowerhouse of Melbourne, FL, Lynne (Scott) Freebern of Dorset, VT, Gwen (Barry) Fronk of Glenville, Richard Lowerhouse of Latham, Jane Lowerhouse of Glendale, AZ, and Julie Lowerhouse of Bloomington, IN; her grandchildren, Kristen Lowerhouse of Orlando, FL, Erin Lowerhouse of Sherman Oaks, CA, Rebecca Clark of Boston, MA, Gregory Clark of Manchester, VT and Tabitha Fronk of Venice, CA; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Davies of Granville and two nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry A. Lowerhouse and her brother, George Davies.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Latham. Interment will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m..
