Gladys R Mcginn

Gladys Reuter McGinn, 85, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2013 with her family at her side. She is survived by her son James McGinn(Janice Libertucci),three daughters Pamela McGinn Jensen (Roger), Sue McGinn Marshall (Jim), Patricia McGinn Phillips (Scott)and daughter in law - Kathy McGinn. She is the cherished grandmother of Heather Leonard, Sarah Staigar, Jennifer Brimer, Joshua Marshall, Patrick McGinn, Benjamin Phillips, Hunter Phillips and the beloved great-grandmother of Alicia Staigar, Anthony Leonard, Lucas Brimer, Zoey Staigar and Eliana Brimer.

She also leaves behind her brother Edward Reuter, sisters-in-law Margaret McGinn, Marilyn McGinn, numerous nieces, nephews and family.

Gladys was born in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, on November 15, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Jacob Reuter and Flora Friedrichs Reuter. In 1950 in Albany she married her high school sweetheart Patrick F. McGinn where they were happily married for 29 years until his passing in 1979.

Gladys valued family above all else and was happiest when all would gather at their summer camp on Saratoga Lake. She enjoyed her volunteer work at the local schools and her trips to the local libraries. She looked forward to day trips with her family anywhere they wanted to explore.

A celebration service of Gladys' life will be Tuesday at 10 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday, Sept 30 from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
