Glenn M. Gosier

August 4, 1963 — January 7, 2022

Glenn M. Gosier, 58, of Holy Rood House, Scotia, NY passed away January 7, 2022, at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.

Glenn was born in Watertown, NY on August 4, 1963. He was the third and youngest son of William and Edna Russell Gosier.

Many years ago, Glenn was severely injured in a motorcycle/car accident in Syracuse, NY and recovered after a long and extensive rehabilitation. However, the trauma left him vulnerable to many health issues and he became an amputee five years ago. Up to his passing, Glenn was very independent while struggling daily and in constant pain.

Although Glenn was disabled, he still gave back to his family. In 2002, he and his brothers assisted on the major renovation of his parent's home where he advised on the woodwork and design of the kitchen and the handicap accessible bathroom.

Before his injury, he was a master wood craftsman, creating eclectic and original pieces that are cherished to this day. Glenn had a degree from Oswego University as a BOCES teacher, but because of health issues was unable was unable to perform as a teacher.

Just life Sinatra, Glenn did things his way. Knowing his body was winding down, he signed his own exit papers at the hospital and with the support of his parents, crossed over the heavenly bridge. His family and friends will greatly miss Glenn and are grateful that they were able to spend this past Thanksgiving and Christmas with him.

Glenn is predeceased by his oldest brother, Brian and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Besides his parents, Glenn is survived by his brother, Kevin (Donna) Gosier of Pattersonville, NY; niece, April L. Gosier, Schenectady, NY; nephew, Kyle J. Gosier, Canandaigua, NY; grandnephew, Lance Corporal Schuyler A. Wells, actively stationed in California and grandniece, Samantha E. Hill, Schenectady, NY.

There will be no services at this time. A spring service and memorial will be announced at future date.

In lieu of any flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
