Glenn N. Rivers

COLONIE – Glenn N. Rivers, 61, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Glenn was born on August 26, 1947 in Weybridge, VT and was the son of the late Wilfred and Norma Rivers. He worked for Freihofer's and JD Beer & Sons, both in Albany. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, was a NY Giants fan, had a funny sense of humor and loved spending time with his family, especially with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These memories will forever be our keepsake.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 45 years, Francine P. (Kramer) Rivers. He is the father of Glenn N. (Karen) Rivers, Jr. of Colonie, Frances Heppelle of East Greenbush and the late William S. Rivers. He is the grandfather of Crystal and Scott "Bear", whom he raised as his own children. He is also the grandfather of William, Dyllan, Francine and Sarah. He is the great-grandfather of Esiah, Dylan and Manny. He is the brother of Ronald (Gloria), Larry (Maggie), Lyle (Rhonda), and Jimmy (Linda) Rivers and Marie Drucker and the late Wilfred, Lloyd, Shirley and Victor Rivers and Janice Olmstead. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Memory's Garden in Colonie.
