COLONIE – Gloria A. Felitte, 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She was born on June 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Bernadette "Minnie" (Tortorici) DiBella.
The world has truly lost a force of nature. Even at close to 93 years old she was in no way ready to leave and was looking ahead to the future. Of course, life doesn't work that way and eventually Father Time wins out. She lived her life with great energy, a tremendous sense of humor and an unsurpassed work ethic. She proudly worked in the office at Sears in Colonie Center for close to 40 years, leaving but not retiring at 72. The next 12 years she worked as an aide for the South Colonie School District. She loved the kids and the people she worked with. They loved her.
It is said you can tell a lot about a person by the friends they make. Gloria had countless friends that loved her and she returned the love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix in 2004; her daughter, Nadine in 2005; her sister, Norma and her close friend, Don Pagano.
Gloria is survived by her sons, James (Cheryl) and Bob (Diane) Felitte; her grandchildren, Jason Halter, Jamie (Jennifer), Michael, Evan (Jenna) and Morgan Felitte; several great grandchildren and her brother, Robert DiBella.
Visitation will be held from 10:30am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204 in Gloria's memory.
