Gloria M. Potter

Colonie- Gloria M. Potter passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2015 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was 87 years old.
The daughter of the late Adam "Ed" and Gertrude (Duffy) Scymanky, Gloria was born on November 15, 1927 in Plattsburgh, NY and grew up in Rouses Point, NY. She met and married Frank C. Potter in Plattsburgh, where together they raised their family. In the early eighties they moved to Colonie.
Gloria had a zest for life; she was a social butterfly who could talk to anyone which was evident by her many friends. Gloria had many talents including: gardening, oil painting and singing. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, and one of her favorite activities was dancing with Frank.
Gloria was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She touched many lives and was the bond that connected many circles. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Gloria is survived by her children: Susan M. Mintzer and Robert C. Potter; her grandchildren: Jessica, Justin, Kalli, Matthew, Jennifer and Lauren; her four great-grandchildren and many family members and friends.
In addition to her parents Gloria was predeceased by her loving husband Frank C. Potter; her siblings: Jack, Jimmy, Gert, and Pat; and her beloved cat Kiki.
Per Gloria's wishes a memorial service will be celebrated at a future date.
Memorial donations may be made in Gloria's name to a charity of one's choice.
