COLONIE- Gloria V. Coy, of Colonie, passed away on Friday July 11, 2008 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in North Adams, MA and was the daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine Palumbo DiDonna. Gloria was a terrific cook and enjoyed sharing her talent with her family and friends. She was a cook at Colonie Central High School for forty years and an Avon representative for over fifty years. Gloria was a Ladies Auxiliary member of the VFW Post 8692 and Colonie Fire Company where she was the recipient of the Etta Shambrook Memorial Award in honor of her service and dedication. Gloria enjoyed crocheting, poetry, flower arranging and playing the organ. She was predeceased in 1990 by her husband Frank Coy.
Gloria is the beloved mother of Sheila Novak, Barbara Buono (Paul) and Ronald Coy (Sharon). She is the sister of Lewis DiDonna, Mary Bua (Gus), Thomas DiDonna and the late Andrew, Ralph, John, William DiDonna, Antoinette Stoddard and Raymond Crews. She is the cherished grandmother of Michael Buono (Kellie), Kristy Buono, Marshall, Mark, and Matthew Novak. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gloria will be missed by her beloved cat, Rosie.

Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:30 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia NY 12302 in memory of Gloria V. Coy.
