Albany – Goldie Crenshaw, 95, passed away Saturday January 1, 2011 at Albany County Nursing Home.
Goldie was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina a daughter of the late Carrie Johnson and Major Woodard Gibson. She moved to the Albany area at age 15 and has called the capital area "home" since.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband William Smith and their son William Jr., her second husband John Crenshaw, four sisters and four brothers.
Goldie is survived by a daughter-in-law, two grandsons, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held Thursday 12:00 noon at Macedonia Baptist Church, 172 North Allen St. Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the church.
