Albany- Owner/operator of Deweys Diner, Gordon, died December 3, 2016. He was born into the diner October 18, 1949 started by his late parents Erwin Dewey and Lillian Mulligan.
Gordon Attended Colonie Central High School before joining the Navy, serving in Vietnam until late 1969. Gordon has always been an avid Patriots fan.
Under his tough and tumble exterior, Gordon was a great big teddy bear who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Gordon had a heart of gold and a personality like no other, a kind of charm and humor that drove some crazy.
Gordon leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Dewey- she, with a fantastic sense of humor, understanding, and devotion, enjoyed him for all of this and so much more. His "little girl" Tracey Dewey (Danielle) of Keene, NH, his "#1 son" Wayne Michael Dewey of Watervliet, NY, and his "little buddy" and grandson Mason Dewey of Keene, NH. In addition to his immediate family, Gordon leaves behind his "brother"-in-law Corey, sister-in-law Patti Mayo, and his brother and sister-in-law Ben and Sherry Malvinni, several nieces, nephews, a host of diner family, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Stacey.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 3pm-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 9am on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
