COLONIE, NY – Gordon P. Ahl, 84, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, November 02, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised on Albany Shaker Road in Colonie on September 8, 1924 and was the son of the late Peter and Mabel Ahl. Gordon was a vegetable farmer for many years in Colonie where he owned and operated Ahl Farms and Greenhouses. He also owned and operated Gordon Ahl Fuel Oil. Mr. Ahl enjoyed wintering in Naples, FL for almost 30 years. Gordon is the beloved husband of 64 years to Eileen F. Ahl. He is the devoted father of Gordon P. (Judy) Ahl, Jr., of Latham, Richard A. (Linda) Ahl of Loudonville, Robert L. (Judith) Ahl of Latham and Susan A. (Kenneth) Plaske of Colonie. Gordon is the cherished grandfather of Peter Ahl, Jeremy Ahl, David Ahl, Richard Ahl, Jr., Jason Ahl, Melissa Lonks, Michael Ahl, Ryan Ahl, Kaitlin Ahl, Stephen Plaske, Kimberly Plaske, Laura Plaske, Sean Plaske and Alyssa Plaske. Also surviving are seven loving great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Gordon was also predeceased by his stepmother, E. Marjorie Ahl and his sister, Henrietta Oldham.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Killean Park, Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
