ALBANY___Gordon W. Newport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Gordon was born on October 27, 1927, son of the late William and Frances (Stock) Newport.
Gordon was the sole owner and operator of Newports Motorcar Garage, Inc. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and U.S. Army in the Korean War.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Ruth (Griggs) Newport, his son, Daniel and his wife Yvonne (Liberty) Newport, a brother, Willard Newport, his grandchildren, Nicholas Liberty-Newport, Gregory Liberty-Newport, Amara Liberty-Newport, Patrick Liberty-Newport and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
