Grace M. Shaver

GUILDERLAND – Grace M. Shaver, 80, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
Grace was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Michael and Isabelle (Giacomino) Garramone. She graduated from Albany High School in 1947. She worked for the State of New York for several years retiring from the New York State Department of Education in 1998. Grace was a gifted and talented artist and enjoyed designing her many crafts for family and friends.
Grace was the beloved mother of Ellen (Dave) Smith, Janet (Gary) Fowler, Carol Donato, Linda (Woody) Murrell and David (Avolene) Shaver. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Garramone and his wife Mary Elizabeth Slevin. Proud grandmother of Sean, Lance and Sheila (Nick King) Smith, Sandra (Bernie) Roddy, Doug (Jenn) and Carl (Jessica) Radzewicz, Marc (Kim) Donato, Jeremy (Brooke), Jonathon, and Andrew (Mary) Shaver and Angela (Jason) Pemberton and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her beloved kitties Dora and Millie.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A private burial service will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
