Grace C. (McCoy) Proper, 77, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.
She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time she passed.
She was born in Cobleskill, NY to the late Charles and Joyce (Martin) McCoy.
Grace was a homemaker and a loving Mom who always put the needs of her family before her own.
She was willing to give to those in need whether it was food, an encouraging word or even a firm word if the occasion warranted it.
She loved flower gardening, crocheting, cookie baking and all domestic and wild animals. She was a strong woman of faith who faced every challenge with dignity and courage.
She instilled in us the importance of family and doing what is right.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Kevin McCoy.
Grace is survived by her loving husband, James (Butch) Proper Sr; her siblings; Alvin McCoy, William McCoy, Lisa McCoy
and Carla (McCoy) Hillicoss; her children, Rose (McCoy) Seeger (Mark Myers), Angelica (France) Todd (Linden), Daniel France and Candace France;
stepson James Proper Jr (Stacey); grandchildren Chelsea Lockrow, Makenna Todd, Sierra and Joshua Myers; step grandchildren Brooke, Thomas and Payton Proper and one great grandchild Hailee Boles.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff, doctors and nurses while at Ellis Hospital for all of their care and compassion.
Memorial services will be Saturday, November 25th at 2 - 4 pm in the New Comer Cremations and Funerals at 343 New Karner Rd.,
