Grace L. Smith

Grace L. Smith, 94, of Delmar, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Amsterdam on December 12, 1923, Grace was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Nancy (Deyorra) Constantine.

Grace was raised in Amsterdam, where she attended local schools and began her employment in the city's former carpet mills. Grace later moved to Albany, where she lived most of her life and raised her family. After many years of service, Grace retired from employment with Albany Medical Center in their housekeeping department. In her pastime, Grace enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.



Survivors include; her children: William C. Brockley (Patricia) and Anna F. Gagnon (John); her grandchildren: Michael W. Reinhart, Shantell R. Vogel (John), Kevin W. Brockley (Rachel) and Karen T. Brockley; her great grandchildren: Marissa Hoffman (Jeff), Jordanne Vogel, Aleecia Reinhart, Gianni Leto, Hunter Vogel and Michael Reinhart. Also surviving are siblings; Patrick Constantine and Eugenia Maslanka. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Besides her parents, Grace was predeceased by her two husbands William C. Brockley, Sr. and William Smith, as well as 14 siblings.


Relatives and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday (November 1st) at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 o'clock on Friday (November 2nd) at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St, Albany, NY 12203 (Behind CVS). Interment will follow the mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
