Grace V. Labarge

GUILDERLAND – Grace V. LaBarge, 91, died early Monday morning, May 12, 2008 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family.
Grace was born on October 12, 1916 in Chittenango, NY and was the daughter of Edward and Jenny Jacobs. She retired from NYS Department of Audit and Control at the age of 70, after 20 years of employment. She was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church in Altamont.
Grace enjoyed reading, bowling, playing cards and scrabble, sitting on the porch and seeing nature all around her, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, but most recently spending time with her "little sissy" Adrianna.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Mel) Glynn of Largo, Fla., Melinda (Pierre) Beliveau of Guilderland; her sons, Leo (Jo-Ann) LaBarge of Scotia and Robert (Cynthia) LaBarge of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren, Edward and Linda Fingerhut, Renee Cozzi, Deanna Tope, Andrea George, Robert LaBarge, Jr., Melissa Woo, Matthew LaBarge, Thomas Beliveau, Nicole Pitts, Michael Beliveau, and Patrick, Angie and Lawren Pettis; her great-grandchildren, Edward and Amanda Fingerhut, Christine and Kyle Williams, Jessica Tope, Allison and Emily George, Robert LaBarge III, Allison Grace LaBarge, Owen Woo, Matthew, Mark, Jaylen and Allysia Beliveau, Gary Waters, Georgie and Adrianna Pitts, Sierra DeBenedetto, and Jo-Ann, Taylor and Ava Pettis; and her best friend and scrabble buddy, Jeanne Beliveau. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy LaBarge in 1989; her sons, Gary and Ronald LaBarge, her grandson, David Fingerhut and her siblings, Vernon and Carl Jacobs and Mae Wood.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
