Gretchen K. Mchale

GUILDERLAND – Gretchen K. McHale, 78, of Guilderland, formerly of Utica, NY, passed away quietly on Monday, May 16, 2011 in the comfort of her family after battling a long illness with courage and grace.
Gretchen leaves behind her husband, John McHale, Sr.; her children, William Murray (Janet), Louise Basile, Marion Basile (Dominic), Peter Murray, John McHale, Jr. (Renee), and Charles McHale (Cathy); her son-in-law, Anthony Basile; her granddaughters, Meghan Rice (Chris) and Whitney Basile and many other long and cherished friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Vachon and office staff, nurses and staff of the A6 at Ellis Hospital, her Hospice of Schenectady team and Guilderland Paramedics and dispatchers for their compassionate and loving care.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Gretchen K. McHale.
