Grover L. Borden Jr.,63, passed away on December 8, 2013 at the Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany with his family by his side.
Grover was born October 27, 1950, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the son of Grover and Shirley (Pete) Borden.
He proudly served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for New Directions, Enfield, CT.
He was a proud member of NA/AA. He loved to play pinochle and being with his family and friends and helping others.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine Clark and Adeline (Reed) and Leonard Pete.
Grover was survived by his daughter, Korey (Luis) Westbrook-Vega, his son Cleveland Borden and Anthony (Jennifer) Westbrook. He is the adored grandfather of Jamie, Luis, Kiana, Olivia and Parker. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Laurie, Dorma and Larry Borden and his dear friend Arlene May.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, at 4:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 2 to 4 at the funeral home.
Interment will be on Monday at 1:00 pm at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
Additional Memorial service will be held from 1-3pm on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Bethlehem Baptist Community Church 304 Elm St. Holyoke, MA, all are invited.
