Gurbachan Singh Wadhwa, 83, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Friday November 30, 2012. Born in Amritsar, India, he immigrated to Albany in 1983, residing in Colonie ever since.
From his start as a rice factory owner in India, he was known for his math skills as a successful business man in India, and during his job as an accountant with the State of New York.
Affable and personable, a friend to all who met him, he was known as the "miracle man" that overcame the most difficult of challenges without so much as a single complaint, always with a bright smile, he served as an inspiration to us all.
His passion for food, being the most honest man and his bright and sunny disposition will never be forgotten. The values he instilled in all of us will remain as his legacy.
He is survived by his wife Davinder Wadhwa, son Dr. Gurinder Wadhwa, daughter Jyoti Singh and his three grandchildren, Kaiya, Priya and Amar. We all have the fondest memories of our time spent with him. He would want everyone to keep smiling and make the world a better place for all.
