NISKAYUNA- Guy M. Evans, 60, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 27th. Born in Albany, he was both best friend and loving husband of 35 years to Denise Mullen-Evans. Guy retired from the D & H/CP Railway in February after 38 years of dedicated service.
Family was the centerpiece and highlight of Guy's life; he took much pride in his home and yard, and in the accomplishments of his "girls". He enjoyed good meals and holiday traditions (especially Christmas) with family and friends, listening to good music at the Saratoga Jazz Fest, seeing ball games at Yankee Stadium and watching college basketball with his buddies. He loved vacationing in Maine and Southern France with friends who became family.
Guy always left an indelible imprint wherever he went, as evidenced by his many friendships. He will be remembered as a funny, outgoing, endearing person who never missed an opportunity to say, "thank you."
Guy's life will continue to be celebrated by his much-loved daughters; Allison Evans and Ashley Schafer, son-in-law, Ben Schafer, grand daughter, Adelaide Schafer, four brothers; Robert, Joseph, John, and Paul, and brother-in-law, Thomas Mullen.
No formal services will be held. Guy will be remembered on the coast of Maine where his family will gather to fly kites. Those wishing to remember Guy in a special way may send a contribution to the Northeast Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany Shaker Rd, Latham, NY, 12110.
