Hans Robert Riedel

Hans Robert Riedel of Schenectady passed away on February 23, 2023, at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. He was born the son of Hans and Margaret (Hilger) Riedel on August 3, 1954 in Cobleskill, NY. Hans, who lived in Florida for a time, spent most of his life in the Capital District area and was employed at Ed Conroy Bookseller in Troy for many years.
Has is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Rita, and his partner, Ryan Dieterle. He is survived by his devoted friends, Alex and Lisa Eldert of Castleton on the Hudson, NY and Virginia Dieterle of Camillus, NY. Those of us close to him knew the kind, generous and loving and sometimes lost soul that he was. He was a gentle loving person and his smile. laughter, sense of humor and his presence in our lives will be missed by those of us who loved him. He will rest in peace with Ryan.
Per his request, Hans was buried in the Cherry Valley Cemetery, Cherry Valley, NY with his partner Ryan, whom he always said was the love of his life.
