Harold A. Van Appledorn

ALBANY- Harold A. Van Appledorn, 79, of Albany, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late James and Grace Van Appledorn.
Harold served in the US Army during the 1950's and met his future wife in Germany. He was a truck driver with George T. Hall Trucking in Albany for many years. Harold was a Life Member of VFW Post 1019 where he had served in several capacities, including Distinguished All American Post Commander. He was also a member of the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post 1520.
Harold is the beloved husband of 58 years to Stephanie Van Appledorn. He is the devoted father of Lawrence (Kathleen) Van Appledorn, Diana Wright and Deborah (Mathew) Boyle. He is the brother of Ruth Ann (Edward) Lints and the late Shirley Smith, Emerson and Robert Van Appledorn. Harold is the cherished grandfather of Jacqueline, Jillian, Brittany, Derek, Zachary, Alexandria and Matthew. He is the great grandfather of Alissa and Brooke. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Harold A. Van Appledorn.
