Harold W. Britten, Sr., 62, passed away at home surrounded in love by his family on Monday, June 26, 2017.
Harold was born on June 10, 1955 son of the late, Howard W. and Vivian A. Britten.
As an avid fisher and outdoorsman, Harold spent much of his free time exploring area lakes and streams. Later in life, he took pride in teaching his grandchildren the art of fishing. When not fishing, Harold was an expert craftsman, who enjoyed woodworking and remodeling.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Rosanna M. Golden; his children, Kristopher (Leah) Golden, Scott (Cheryl) Golden, Samantha Golden; sister, Alesia 'Gig' Britten, Linda (Frank) Plath, Annemarie Franklin, Jenny Britten; grandchildren, Alexander, Evan, Samantha, and Bradley; great-granddaughter, Charlotte; sister-in-law, Josephine (Richard) DeFilippo and his beloved nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
Harold was predeceased by his brothers, William and Frederick and a sister, Shirley.
Harold's memory may be honored through a memorial contribution to Double H Ranch, 97 Hidden Valley Rd., Lake Luzerne, NY 12846 or to a charity that supports his love of the outdoors or children with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, June 30, 2017 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189. A service to celebrate Harold's life will begin at 12:00pm on Friday. Interment will be at Vale Cemetery.
