Harold C. Bieber

COLONIE – Harold C. "Hal" Bieber, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Charles and Naomi Bieber. Hal resided in Colonie since 1965. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. and served as past Commandant for the local Marine Corp League detachment. Hal worked for AT&T for thirty years, retiring in 1985. While working at AT&T, and after his retirement, he was closely associated with the Pioneers of America. He was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Albany Association of the American Bowling Congress (ABC) for twenty years and was then hired as Association Manager for Albany USBC. Hal was in the Albany USBC Hall of Fame and was also the editor and publisher of Albany Bowling News for twenty-five years. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia R. Bieber for 57 years until her passing in June, 2011. Hal is the devoted father of Karl Bieber and Kristian (Jillian) Bieber. He is the cherished grandfather of Erik, Jordan, Naomi and Jared Bieber. The family would like to thank Dot Guire as well as the staff of the Progressive Care Unit at Samaritan Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Hal.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Bieber.
