Harold E. Wood

NORTH GREENBUSH, NY – Harold E. Wood, 80, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008 with his loving family by his side. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Harold and Laura Wood. He was a graduate of C.B. A. and Siena College. Mr. Wood was an accountant for Rensselaer County Dept. of Finance from where he retired. He was active with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed gardening, bowling and reading. Harold was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Norton Wood. He is the devoted father of Harold "Chip" (Jennifer) Wood of Wynantskill, Mary Laura "Laurie" (Anthony) Germano of North Greenbush, Kathleen Debra "Debbie" (the late Timothy) Grigg of North Greenbush, Pamela JoAnna (Robert) Allers of Clifton Park and Robert Martin "Marty" Wood of Menands. He is the brother of Ralph (the late Irene) Wood of New Jersey. Harold is the cherished grandfather of Justin, Tara, Ryan, Sean, Kevin, Victoria and Anthony "T.J." (Deanna). He is the great-grandfather of Chad and Samantha. Also surviving are several nieces and newphews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home, Community Hospice of Rensselaer County and Samaritan Hospital for their excellent care and support.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Boulevard, Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Harold E. Wood.
