Albany – Harold Frieder, 79, died Friday December 7, 2007 at the Hospice Inn, St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn the son of Issac and Regina (Friedman) Frieder. Harold met Kathleen Murray and they married March 26, 1955 and have spent the last 52 years at one another's side.
Harold faithfully served his country in the armed forces most of his life. He first served in the US Army at the end of WW II; he then joined the New York Army National Guard and was an active member for 44 years. Besides being a caring family man who gave selflessly of himself, Harold was also a passionate gardener and voracious reader.
He is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen Frieder, his beloved daughter Alice Pelletier, cherished granddaughter Ashley Villanueva, his brother Donald Frieder, his sister Sylvia Rackow and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.
