Harold G. Weekes

Harold G. Weekes, Jr., 80, died peacefully , Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 20, 1931, the son of the Late Margaret (Davison) and Harold G. Weekes, Sr. He was raised in the Feura Bush Region by his loving Grandparents, The Late Estelle and Willard Weekes.
Harold was a graduate from Christian Brothers Academy having graduated at the early age of 16. He furthered his life knowledge and skill by serving in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife the former Mary Ellen Mariani of Colonie. His children Michael (DeAnna) Weekes of Ballston Lake; Mary Ann (Ronald Smaka) weekes of Slingerlands; and David (Nancy) Weekes of North Greenbush. Six Grandchildren: Matthew & Christopher Weekes; Justin Roberts; and Lindsey, Lia & Lacey Smaka. He was pre-deceased by three children and a special Aunt, "Aunt Bette Davison." He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He retired in 1991 from Local 190 being employed as a foreman in the field of construction, dedicating 40 years of service. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed racing mini cars. He was a member of The Colonie Senior Citizens.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 4:00-7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 17, 9:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave., Albany.
