TROY – Harold J. Jarvis, 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Harold was born on May 1, 1945 in Amsterdam and is the son of Luella B. (Williams) Edwards and the late Joseph H. Jarvis. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was currently working as a parts driver for NAPA in Colonie for the past five years; prior to that he was a bus driver for Star Strand Bus Co. in Troy for over 20 years. He enjoyed camping, NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Mets fan, even though the rest of the family is Yankees diehards.
In addition to his mother, Harold is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Bernice J. (Edwards Geddis) Jarvis; four children, Brian, Christine, Jeffery, and Randy; his step-children, Gerald, Jacqueline, and Timothy; his sister, Gracelynn (Rife) Denton; his brother, Charles (Sylvia) LaPorte and many grandchildren, including Jessica, James, Tyler, Timothy, and Toby. He is also survived by many extended family members.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
A committal service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
