SCHENECTADY-Harold J. LeBlanc, 83, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 following a long illness. He was born on October 9, 1931 in Burlington, VT, the son of the late Napoleon and Maime (Blaise) LeBlanc. He served in the Army National Guard and the US Army in the 1950's in Europe. Harold retired from the Federal Government in 1986 after thirty five years of service. He also retired from the Golub Corporation after fifteen years of service. Harold was a real history buff and expert, especially concerning the Civil War, WWI and WWII. He was an avid reader, walker and NY Yankees fan. Harold enjoyed hiking in the Adirondacks.
Harold was predeceased by his first wife Marlene (Adams) LeBlanc; four brothers and three sisters.
Harold is survived by his wife Colleen (Connors) Lambert LeBlanc; two sons David LeBlanc of Cohoes and Matthew LeBlanc (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC; his five step children and his grandchildren Grant LeBlanc and Brooke McGinley. He is also survived by ten step grandchildren including Rachel Lambert, Nicholas Lambert, Gracie Lambert and Meghan Lambert; by six step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10 AM on Friday, February 6, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady, NY 12304.
Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 or to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 in memory of Harold.
