Harold L. Stilsing

May 30, 1929 — December 5, 2012

Harold Lloyd Stilsing, 83, of Guilderland, N.Y., passed away on December 5, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospice, after a short battle with cancer. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Born in East Greenbush on May 30, 1929, to the late Harold W. and Dorothy Stilsing. He attended East Greenbush schools and entered into the US Navy in 1946 and served aboard the Aircraft carrier "Boxer" CV21, as an electrician's mate. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Harold married the love of his life Dorilee Hedrick of 61 years. In 1952 Harold started his own electrical contracting business, Stilsing Electric, Inc. in Rensselaer, doing projects all across upper New York State where he enjoyed coming to work daily until the time of his death. He always tried to treat all his employees fairly and honestly and was respected by many in the electrical field. Harold had many hobbies and interests, including an A-frame camp at the Great Sacandaga Lake which he enjoyed with his family and friends. Harold loved to restore vintage wood boats, puzzles and the NY Yankees. Harold spent many vacations at Moffit Beach as a child and continued the tradition with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to Dorilee, he is survived by his five children who meant the world to him. Daughters, Linda Spring (Stephen), Lisa Ort (Steve), Cheryl Stilsing, Jenise Stilsing; son, Lloyd (Kathy) Stilsing; grandchildren, Dean and Megan Senecal, William Stilsing and Jason Barber, Mike, Kristen and Vicki Stilsing and Gear Kowalchyk; great-grandchildren, Liliana, Leila, Haylee and Katalina.

The family would like to thank the staff of 6P and The Hospice Inn for the excellent care given to Harold during his sickness.
