Colonie – Harold K. Snyder, 89, of Colonie passed away peacefully on Sunday March 16, 2014 at the Vermont Veterans Home. Born in Johnstown, he is the son of the late Fred F. Snyder and Ethel May Collins.
Harold honorably served his country during WWII, being assigned to the 502nd Parachute Infantry. After returning home, he worked as an auto mechanic and owned his own service station in Brunswick for a number of years. Harold later retired from the Latham Water Dept. He enjoyed games of chance, playing slots, and was a horseracing enthusiast. Harold also enjoyed working with his son John on construction projects and at the Laundromat.
Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife Doris F. Snyder, and his two brothers, Fred F. Snyder Jr. and William Snyder.
Harold is survived by his two sons, Ken (Jennifer) Snyder, and John (Darlene) Snyder. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Rachel (Jason) Lockman, David Snyder, Daniel Snyder, Joseph Snyder, Leah Snyder, Chris Walsh, and Brian Walsh.

Funeral services for Harold will be held Wednesday March 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
