COLONIE-Harriet C. Bauer, 97, of Colonie, passed away on Saturday July 25, 2009 at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late George and Harriet Paige.
Harriet worked for A & P Company and as a clerk with New York State Tax & Finance. She was a charter member of the Colonie Village Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and an active e member of the Colonie Village Seniors. Harriet was predeceased in 1963 by her husband Frederick W. Bauer Sr., the former mayor of the Village of Colonie.
She is the beloved mother of Robert F. (Marion) Bauer, Kenneth L. (Patricia) Bauer, Fred W. (Evelyn) Bauer III and the late Ronald R. Bauer (Janet). Harriet is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Louis J. Bauer Sr., and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 11:00 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Colonie. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colonie Village Seniors, 2 Thunder Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Harriet C. Bauer.
