Harriet M. Massara of Albany, passed away on July 11, 2017. Born on April 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Massara. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Sister Rose, Frank, Vincent, Josephine and Arthur Massara.
Harriet graduated from the College of Saint Rose. Her career was as an administrative assistant for the FBI for 47 years, starting in Washington DC, then moving to Albany. She was an avid animal lover, especially to her two cats Peggy and Tina. She sang in the choir in her church. Her two favorite hobbies were ceramics and painting. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles and traveled extensively.
Harriet is survived by one nephew, Joseph (Francine) and six nieces, Carole, Marie, Denise, Roseanne, Jeanne and Patricia, along with many great nieces and nephews and great great grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend Nancy (Nick) St. Louis, and friends, Jennifer, Juliana, Ashley and Joanne (Rick) Menzer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Harriet at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany, NY 12208 on Monday, July 17 at 12 noon. A calling hour will be held at the church from 11am to 12pm. A burial service will be held immediately following the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery.
