COLONIE – Harriet "Hattie" J. Oliver, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Hattie was born on March 19, 1926 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Adaline (Hayford) Rickert. She was also predeceased by her husband in 1988, Lester E. Oliver and her siblings, Mary, Lucy, Anna, George, John, Anthony, Adaline, Lillian, Catherine, William, Joseph, William, Edward, Charles, Shirley, and Dorothy.
Hattie enjoyed knitting, reading, collecting Hummels, playing bingo and poker and taking trips to the Racino. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan and loved the Young and the Restless.
Hattie is survived by her loving children, Sharon (Tom) McGuire, John "Jackie" Oliver, Theresa (Pasquale) Moscatelli, Michael Oliver, and Christine (Michael) Cahill and her cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Scott, Ashley, Eric, Amber, Thea, Michael D., Michael J., Joshua, Shannon, Samantha, and Bethany. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and was a special friend to many.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Harriet J. Oliver.
