Harriett Sperry

Guilderland – Harriett Ann Sperry, 82, known to all as "Ann," passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. She was born in Stockton, CA but lived in the Albany area from childhood on.

Ann was a proud graduate of Milne High School (1953) and Syracuse University (1957) and a loyal fan of Syracuse football and basketball. She was an elementary school reading teacher and Title I Coordinator for the South Colonie School District when she retired in 1991, and an active participant thereafter in meetings and luncheons with her fellow retirees.

Ann was happiest vacationing on Cape Cod and spending time with family and friends. She was predeceased by "the love of her life": husband, Phil Sperry; her parents, Henry J. and Harriett McFarland; and brothers, Bruce and Jack McFarland and his wife, Joan.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Sperry; by her daughter, Deb Ineson and son-in-law, Bob Ineson; her grandson, Andrew Ineson and granddaughter, Maureen Kedzie and her husband, Drew Kedzie; her sister-in-law, Gwen Sperry; and her nieces and nephew and their spouses and children.

Friends and family are invited to visit the family on Monday, August 15, from 4-7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, August 16, at Trinity Methodist Church, 235 Lark St, Albany. Burial to follow in Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany
