Harry "Andy" Androkavitz, 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Ellis Hospital, NY.
Born on June 15, 1948, in Scranton PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Emma-Lou Androkavitz. At the age of five, he moved to Schenectady, NY.
He graduated from Guilderland High School and later joined the Air Force in 1968 serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War where he installed Egress Systems in Air Crafts.
Harry married his beloved wife Barbara in 1974, and in 1977, they became Owner-Operators driving their Kenworth cross-country, mostly hauling radioactive waste to burial sites in South Carolina, Washington, and Nevada.
In 1984, Harry started driving for local trucking companies, and also part-time for Batesville Casket Co., which he did locally on the weekends. In 2014, he retired from the Town of Guilderland where he worked in the wastewater department.
Harry loved camping. He started with a truck camper, then moved onto a Holiday Rambler 25' trailer to a 30' fifth wheel, which Harry and his wife Barbara used with their two sons, traveling many times to Disney World. Once the boys got too old to hang with Mom and Dad, Harry and Barbara bought a Dutchstar motorhome for them to keep traveling, when they could find the time.
Harry is survived by his wife Barbara of 48 years, sons Jeremy (Kristy) of Colonie, and Jason of Schoharie; his sister Deborah DuBois, sister-in-law Vickie Affinito, Debra (Tom) Ranney, Laurie (Bob) Kretzler, and several nieces and nephews.
