Harry R. Dagner, 92, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, his loving family by his side.
Harry was the son of the late Harry and Mabel G. (Donar) Dagner.
He was the devoted husband to Shirley (Paradis) Dagner.
Harry proudly served with the Untied States Army during WWII and was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis Dagner, who when Harry first laid eyes on her said: "I'm going to marry that girl!".
Harry resided most of his life in Colonie, NY where he and Phyllis raised their five children. He spent most of his career working in the printing industry at local businesses, most notably Williams Press. In his early years he was a skilled artisan. He enjoyed working with his hands and many tools creating and building furniture and other things.
Harry remarried in his late 70s to his current wife, Shirley. They lived in Ballston Lake and enjoyed traveling and dining out with their friends.
Harry is survived by his wife, Shirley Dagner; his children; Susan (William) Charbonneau, Richard (Kelly) Dagner, Joyce Salisbury, Nancy Julian and Janice deSousa, his step daughter, Lisa Fellows. He is the adored grandfather of Stephen Ieronimo, Christopher Ieronimo, Benjamin Julian, Jennifer Julian, Stephen Salisbury, Jacqueline deSousa and Brittany deSousa; step grandfather to Kyle Fellows and Connor Blick and survived by twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia (late Harold) Cronin, a sister-in-law Doris (late Paul) Giles and nieces and nephews.
Harry's children invite all to remember him in some kind way in gratitude for his life with us. Share stories with each other for that is what Harry liked most.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York on Sunday December 16, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Monday December 17, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
