Harry Martin Knauf

June 4, 1934 — May 23, 2021

Harry Martin Knauf, 86, peacefully passed away at home Sunday, May 23, 2021. Harry was the son of the Harry and Clara Knauf. Harry was the devoted husband to Margaret E. Knauf. They were married 60 years.

Harry served in the United States Army where he traveled to eight European countries and met Margaret in the Netherlands. He graduated with an Associate level degree from Hudson Valley Community College. He had a successful career with AT&T. He was awarded a Tiffany crystal apple for his exemplary technical skills in resolving a major crisis. He was acknowledged with the prestigious emerald and gold ring for 20 years of perfect attendance. Harry was a devoted Christian and supported many charities and Christian ministries. He was a member of Grace Fellowship in Latham, NY. He was a member of the German American Club of Albany. He volunteered for many years at the Capital City Rescue Mission serving underprivileged communities. He had a life long study into health and wellness. He was awarded a trophy from the YMCA for completing a 100 mile swim. He was a master flytier and loved to ice fish on Lake George.

Harry is survived by his four children: Steve Knauf (Carrie White), Mark Knauf, Linda Knauf (Richard Calkins), Carla Knauf; and his four grandchildren: Amanda Collet, Melissa Knauf, Casey Oliva, and Hannah Knauf.
Harry is predeceased by his sister Helen May Knauf.

A funeral service will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetary, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY on June 2, 2021 at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Capital City Mission of Albany.
