COLONIE – Harry F. Malone, 80, of Colonie, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2005. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Henry F. and Laura E. Malone. Mr. Malone was a Colonie resident for most of his life. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Harry was an auto mechanic and owned and operated the former Chic's Shell Station in Latham since 1958. It later became Chic's Sunoco. While running his business, he received the Million Gallon Club Award. Mr. Malone was a great lover of animals and a supporter of wildlife. Harry is the husband of the late Ruth C. Malone. He is the father of Sharon L. Malone Levine of Ballston Spa. He is the grandfather of Lee M., Lauren G., Robert W. and John P. Levine, all of Ballston Spa. He is the brother of Laura, Brian, Frederick and Shirley. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenbush Cemetery, Rensselaer.
