TROY, NY –
Wickham, Harry P. , 92, passed away on Friday, April 21 after a brief illness with beloved family by his side. Harry was born on New Year's Day in 1931 in Harpersfield, NY and was the son of the late Ivah and Linwood Wickham.
Harry served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954, during which he met his wife, Fran Morgan, in North Carolina. After being discharged from the Air Force, Harry moved to New York, where he resided and raised his family for 68 years in Troy.
Harry was employed as a Sales Representative for several food brokers before retiring at the age of 80. He enjoyed being a member of the Troy Elks for 45 years, gardening, bowling, NASCAR and travelling with his wife. The most valuable thing to Harry was his family, especially Sunday family dinners.
Harry is survived by his wife, Fran, of nearly 70 years and their children, Cynthia McMullen, Susan, Terry (Denise), Bobbi-Ann Walsh (Frank) and daughter in law, Gail Wickham. Harry is also survived by his two granddaughters, Ali (Anthony) Mariano, Tori (Pat) and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Isabella Mariano. In addition, Harry leaves behind his furry companion, Diamond.
Harry has been reunited with his son, Ronald, who predeceased Harry in March of 2012.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff on the 3B wing of the Van Rensselaer Manor and to the Community Hospice for their kind care.
Family and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, April 26 from 5-7 p.m. Service immediately following at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet. Interment will take place at G.B.H.S. Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 200pm
