Harry A. Zophy, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Harry was the son of the late Andrew and Edith Zophy.
Harry was the devoted husband, for over 42 years to Dorothy (Rogers) Zophy.
Harry proudly served with the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957.
His career started in California with the Costa Mesa Police Department from 1963 to 1967. He then returned to New York State to work for General Electric where he would retire after 25 years in 1994. After retirement he continued to work for Enterprise Rental Car as a part time driver for the past 19 years.
Harry enjoyed camping, fishing and everything about Disney and Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Michael A. Zophy.
Harry is survived by his wife, Dorothy Zophy; his children, Andrew (Susan) Zophy and Mary (Robert) Redmond. He was the grandfather of Madison and Payton Zophy and Steven and Ryan Redmond.
The family would like to thank Elaina for all of her care and compassion given to Harry and his family.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals , 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
