SCHOHARIE – Harvey C. Jones, 68, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at his home, with his devoted wife next to him.
Harvey was born on February 12, 1942 in Ithaca and was the son of the late Richard O. Jones II and Harriet (Lohr) Jones. He served in the US Navy from 1960-1964. He worked for the IBEW Local Union #43 in Syracuse for 7 years and for Local Union #236 in Schenectady for 7 years, before retiring in 2009.
Harvey enjoyed his time vacationing on the ocean at Cape Cod, and boating along the rivers and canals of NY. He was an animal lover, loved working around his home and most importantly – spending time with his "best wife in the universe", his family and friends.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Joan M. (DeCiantis) Jones; his son, Clinton C. Jones (Samantha); his step-daughter, Jessica Helie and his grandsons, Brayden Jones and Aidan Helie. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and Richard Jones III.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.).
At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Harvey C. Jones.
