Harvey Coons, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Peters Hospital.
Harvey was the son of the late Emery and Edna Coons.
Harvey lived at Pinewood since 2009, and has been a part of the Lexington ARC family since 2011. He had a gentle soul with so much personality, feistiness and spunk. Harvey's smile absolutely lit up a room, and he always made it a point to let everyone know that he was on his way into a room! He always kept everyone on their toes, and kept staff in line, constantly telling them what they needed to do. Everyone who knew him, knew how much he loved being silly, making staff smile, and always having everyone's attention, especially his favorite person, Melissa, who he lovingly called "Wayne". Whenever Melissa walked into the room, Harvey would excitedly yell "WAYNE!".
Harvey absolutely loved motorcycles, having his whole room decorated in Harley Davidson paraphernalia, and was actually able to go for a motorcycle ride in the summer of 2019, thanks to his friend Cap, and Paula Sutton. He had the biggest grin on his face the entire time he was on the motorcycle, we all knew that he was in his absolute glory! There are no words to express how much Harvey will be missed by all of those who loved him and took care of him.
Harvey leaves behind his amazing and loving family at Pinewood, and all of his friends in Albany, including at WWAARC, where he attended day hab for many years. Thank you to each and every one of you for ensuring day in and day out that Harvey had the absolute best life possible, and for being his loving family. There was no better group of people that could have been more in-tune to Harvey's needs, or love him any more than each member of his Pinewood family.
