Colonie- Hattie S. Lawyer passed away on August 10, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was 93 years old.
The daughter of the late Bush and Jessie Shimer she was born on September 5, 1921.
Hattie worked for Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer for 32 years until her retirement in 1984. She loved to travel all over in her RV. She enjoyed hiking, bowling, and golf.
Hattie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul K. Lawyer, Sr; her children: Paul K. (Bernice) Lawyer, Jr. and Lee Ann Archibald; her grandchildren: Paul (Kim), Danny (Diane), and Tony (Christina) Lawyer and Peter and Kevin Archibald; great-grandchildren: Derek, Ashlee, and Maddie; her special niece Betty Knott.
In addition to her parents, Hattie was predeceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 13 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, August 14 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Hattie's name to a charity of one's choice.
