GUILDERLAND – Hattie Lou (Elkins) Kline, 78, sometime early on Saturday, July 12, 2014 peacefully departed this life to begin eternal life with her Lord.
Hattie was born on December 18, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and grew up in Southeastern Ohio. In the summer of 1954, she met the love of her life while serving as a counselor at a church camp. Two years later on August 12, she and David Kline were married. They moved to the Capital District about 50 years ago.
Hattie and David had two children, Denise Ware (Richard) and Jeffrey Kline (Lynn); five grandchildren, Richard Ware (Sara), Matthew Ware (Shannon), Rebecca Kline, Hannah Kline, and Daniel Kelly; and one great granddaughter, Avery Ware. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Austin "Jack" and Opal (Egnor) Elkins; a brother, Sherrill Elkins; and a sister, Velma Gray.
Hattie was a longtime member of Home Bureau and Nimblefingers where she enjoyed crafts, especially knitting. She and David enjoyed traveling in their RV and camping. She loved to work in her flower garden.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie with Dean L. Walter, Senior Pastor of Latham Bible Baptist Church officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Colonie.
