Colonie - Hector F. Richard , 105, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30th. He was born in Lacolle, Quebec on July 25th, 1910. Hector was the devoted Husband of the late Isabella Richard. They were married 59 years.
Hector was a self employed Cabinet Maker and Owner of Hector's Woodcraft Shop. Hector's passion was his camp on Lake Champlain, where he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, water skiing, and wind surfing.
Hector is survived by his son, Donald Richard; daughter in law: Mary Ann (Shickle) Richard, 5 grand children: Meilia (Ernie) Grey, Elise Nigro (Michael) Flynn, Karen (Mark) Rossetti, Christopher (Patricia) Richard, and Jennifer Richard; great grand children: Mathew, Owen and Connor Grey, Zachary Nigro, Schyler and Logan Flynn, Jeremy, Michela, Derek, Alaina and Shaylyn Rossett,and Lucas Richard; one great great grand child: Mari Joy Sietsema,along with many loving relatives in both Canada and the United States.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Hector is predeceased by his two sisters and three brothers.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the professional health care providers at Landmark Health and The Community Hospice of Albany, especially to his very special caregivers Sheri Fyvie-Berhaupt and Holly Fyvie-Nash, for their love and care provided to Hector.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Wednesday February 3, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday February 4th, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Hector's name to The Community Hospice of Albany.
