ALBANY – Helen Agnes Mackey, 83, an earthly angel, has returned to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, October 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Connors.
Helen enjoyed listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra and the Bee Gees. She travelled every year by Amtrak to visit her daughter in San Antonio. Helen delighted in her daily visits with her 8 year old twin grandsons, Connor and Daniel. She was fiercely proud of her Scottish-Irish heritage and enjoyed listening to the bagpipes. She also spent decades working out three times a week at St. Peters Cardiac Rehab.
Along with her parents, Helen was predeceased by her son, Keith.
She is survived by her children Janet, Charlene, Joanne (Rick), Kathleen and Douglas (Marcia), and grandchildren Brian, David, Connor, Daniel, Michelle, Christine and Michael.
A special thank you goes to Dr. Mary Rapazzo, Dr. Ravi and the staff of 4D-E of Albany Medical Center, and her constant companions Catherine, Jean, Minda and Alexis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville. A calling hour will be held in the Church from 9:00 to 10:00 am prior to Mass. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
