ALBANY – Helen Cahill, 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. She was born in Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Veronica Lucsok. Helen moved to Albany after marrying her husband, William A. Cahill, Jr. Helen enjoyed spending time during the summer on Sacandaga Lake with her family. She was an avid fan of the Albany River Rats and the Albany Devils hockey teams. Helen enjoyed Monday night bingo with her friends. She especially enjoyed her many years of friendship with her close friend, Patricia Flynn.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, William A. Cahill, Jr. and her sister, Mary Arbeiter. Helen is the devoted mother of William A. (Linda) Cahill, III of Gaithersburgh, MD, Diane M. (James) Phelan of Albany, Suzanne M. Cahill of Slingerlands and Amy H. (Gary) Cunningham of Guilderland. She is the loving sister of Ann (Kermit) Cooper, Veronica (Paul) Neiss, Elizabeth (Joseph) Scrivo, Charles Lucsok and Joseph (Patricia) Lucsok. Helen is the cherished grandmother of Stephanie and William Cahill, IV, Michelle, Andrew and Stephen Phelan and Sean and Ryan Cunningham.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow services in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
