RENSSELAER – Helen A. Chambers passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2005. Born on February 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harry Bonacker and Hazel Dolan. Helen is the companion of 28 years to Randall "Pete" Edwards. She is the mother of James R. (Joyce) Chambers of Averill Park and their children, James (Melanie), Jennifer (Michael), Scott and Jason, David B. (Eileen) Chambers of Rensselaer and their children, Abbey and Sarah, Keith D. (Argiro) Chambers of Boca Raton, FL and their children, Keith and Sylvia and Jeffrey D. (Anne) Chambers of Delmar and their son, Daniel. She is the great-grandmother of Austin, Rebekah and Isabella Chambers. Helen is also survived by her brothers, Harry (Emma) Bonacker and Harold (Rita) Bonacker and her sister, Joyce Benedetto. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Ruth Chambers, Bernice Jones, Margaret Chambers and Barbara Martin. Helen was predeceased by her sisters, Lillian Hannan and Harriet Whitacker and her brothers-in-law, Theodore Adriance and Robert Chambers. Helen was also predeceased by her husband of 18 years, Rendal Chambers, who died on January 14, 1967. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Helen's family would like to extend a special thank you to Samaritan Hospital's Emergency Room staff, especially Nurse Debbie O'Brien.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Rensselaer. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Arthritis Foundation, Northeastern New York Chapter, 1717 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Helen A. Chambers.
