Our beloved Mom, Helen L. Dale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21st at the age of 94 in her home, where she had wished for and was granted her last days of comfort and care.
Helen was born at home in Colonie, NY on May 10, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Elsa Ferguson and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, NY and Mildred Elley College in Albany, NY. Helen went on to marry William (Bill) G. Dale on May 12, 1946 at the Albany Methodist Church in Schenectady, NY. Upon raising two children, she joined the work force at General Electric Company with 24 years of service before retiring in 1986.
Helen dedicated her life to raising her family, with unconditional love and devotion. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. Upon her lasting days, she would still be busy doing all the housekeeping chores, bound and determined to keep going. Helen had the most beautiful garden that she took such meticulous care of and was so proud of. She will be fondly remembered for her holiday gatherings, especially Christmas with the family, which she looked forward to every year, and many other outings. The most memorable are the camping trips. Helen and her husband, Bill traveled all over the U.S. and Canada in their custom made campers and vans.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) G. Dale of 54 years as well as her sibling, Robert Ferguson and son-in law, Jackson
(Jack) L. Reynolds III.
Helen leaves behind her most cherished, loved, and devoted caregiver, her daughter, Patricia A. Reynolds, a son, Michael A. Dale
(Susan), grandsons, Richard A. Reynolds, Jeffrey M. Dale (Becky), Monet and Julian Dale, great grandchildren, Ian, Ryan and Shannon Dale, nieces, Joyce Van Patten and Sandy Sarto.
With a huge loving heart, Helen was a kind, caring person and she will be forever missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to share her life and adventures. She would like to be remembered with happy thoughts and memories made with those she loved.
Her family is grateful for the love and support by her friends, especially her wonderful neighbor Nancy, her primary physician Dr. Theresa Viola and the devoted and compassionate Hospice Nurses, Renee and Melissa that took care of her on the final journey of her life at home.
In following the wishes of the family, services will be private. Interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady, N.Y.
